Make your website static in minutes

Create a static version of your website that's faster, cheaper and more secure.

A better way to host your site

We build static versions of your existing website, and send the files for you to host on your favorite CDN or static host.

1. Configure your source website

Set up your source website. This can be an existing website that you maintain and you want to create a static version for.

Supports everything - WordPress, Drupal, Joomla etc

Site to static is compatible with all CMS systems, even custom and bespoke ones. It handles sites that have a few pages to a few thousand.

Downsize your server

If you're paying for large servers to support your existing traffic, now is the time to downsize. Once your traffic is served from your static site, you'll only need the smallest of instances to run your source site.

2. Configure your destination settings

Choose how you want to receive the static files for your website, and how often.

Destination types

Choose to get static files pushed to your SFTP or Github account. These can be easily integrated with CDN and static providers.

Schedules

Control how frequently changes to your site should be converted and pushed to your static hosting provider.

3. All done!

Static versions of your website will be generated continuously and pushed to your static website host.

Changed files only

Only pages that have changed will be deployed to your static host. This reduces the time it takes to get changes from your source site to the destination.

Build reports

Get full historic reports of each build run, including details on which pages and assets changed.

Site to Static

Why do I need a static site?

No Downtime

Your site will stay online 24/7.

WordPress, Drupal, Joomla etc all need servers to run on. If those servers go down, then your site is offline and you're losing valuable traffic.

Static sites keep copies of your pages and host them all around the world. If one server goes down, then traffic is redirected to the online servers, meaning you're always online.

Won't get hacked

Hackers often look for outdated servers, plugins and extensions to exploit and take control of your site. Once they're in, it can be very difficult to get them out and the site back online.

Static sites don't have servers to patch and plugins to update. Once your static site is generated and deployed, you can get on with more important tasks knowing that your site is secure.

Cheap to run

Static sites can be deployed to static hosting providers and CDNs like AWS Cloudfront, Azure CDN, Netlify, Bunny CDN etc.

These providers generally offer great rates for storage and traffic, and can serve static sites much cheaper than a normal web host.

Some providers like Cloudflare and Github also offer free hosting and traffic, letting you run your site without cost.

Handles traffic spikes

Traffic spikes happen when a link to your site is featured that suddenly drives a huge volume of traffic to your site.

To deal with this sudden influx, you often need to provision a large number of powerful servers or configure complicated load balancing infrastructure.

Static sites don't need any of this, and can naturally handle huge volumes of daily traffic without any special configuration.

Your site. Faster & more secure.

Avoid the headaches in keeping your website online. Deploy a static version and get on with more important things.

Easy Maintenance

Server patching and plugin updates aren't needed to keep your site running.

More Secure

Hackers are unable to exploit your web sever and application code, as there isn't any.

Better Uptime

Static content is easily distributed so your site can stay online even if servers go down.

Cheap to Run

Shut down your main server when not needed and serve only via your static site.

Scheduled Generation

Automatically generate static version of your site on a scheduled basis.

Upload to SFTP

Get a bundle of all changed pages of your site pushed directly to your SFTP server.

Push changes to Github

Supports pushing changes into Github repositories that integrate with common static hosts.

Host free with Cloudflare

Run your site for free with Cloudflare Pages hosting.

Manage one site, or many

Manage your own site or your customer's sites from a single portal. Set up flexible options for when to generate static versions of each site from its source.

“I work as a freelancer that supports a few of my client's sites. After spending countless hours recovering sites after hosting expired or plugins went out of date, I've now converted all of those sites to static only and can get on with more important things.”
